1. International Mother Language Day is celebrated on February 21st to promote multilingualism, linguistic and cultural diversity, and the preservation of languages. The 2024 theme is "Multilingual education is a pillar of inter generational learning". UNESCO organizes events at its headquarters in Paris, France each year, including panel discussions on multilingual education.
