  • The Department of English has been in existence ever since the evolution into a Degree College in 1930 from being a Zilla School in 1853. 
  • The Department of English has been looked upon as a beacon for its valued resource of lore and expertise in various fields of English Language, Literature, Skills and Training.
  • Unfading flowers of all-pervading fragrance of scholarship have bloomed in countless numbers in this garden of learning.
  • The proud stalwarts and iconic faculty who served the department of English include Dr. M. Ranganath, Dr. Tanikella Sreerama Murthy, Dr. Mahankali Subrahmanya, Dr. Chavali Rama Murthy, Dr. Varalakshmi, Dr. Bharatha Lakshmi and So on.
  • The Department has contributed more than 50 Video lessons to the repertoire of Mana TV in the Combined State of Andhra Pradesh.The Department has turned out proud professionals in various fields such as teaching, Law, Personality Development, Research and Defence Services.
  • Apart from providing instruction in English Language and literature, the department extends guidance and training in the use of Technology, and innovative Teaching Methodologies in teaching learning techniques.
  • As part of Institutional Social Responsibility, the Department has volunteered the responsibility to update Teaching learning skills of the the academic institutions ranging from Municipal schools to Intermediate and Degree Colleges within her vicinity.
  • At present The Department offers ….. courses in language and literature besides Certificate Courses in Functional English, Communication Skills and Employability Skills and extends training as part of Induction Program to the Fresh Recruits on Student centric methods of Teaching English.
