Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary subject that embeds basic principles of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, etc., and aims to provide scientific and technical solutions to Mankind. The Biotechnology scenario in the world is changing rapidly and dynamically. Keeping a beat to the global demands for manpower in this field of Biotechnology. Due to its revolutionized evolution, The Department of Biotechnology was established in this college in 1998-99. The department offers a B.Sc. course in Biotechnology. All the basic infrastructural facilities needed for conducting teaching programmes in different areas of Biotechnology have been developed in the department with well-equipped laboratories. The department has developed a course curriculum that keeps the students up to date about the latest technologies. As a part of student-centric learning, various measures and initiatives are taken to improve the skills of the students including Guest lectures, Industrial tours, mini projects and Certificate courses etc.,
The strength of the department is its enthusiastic and student friendly staff who have been drawn from reputed universities like Hyderabad Central University, Krishna University and Andhra University. The teachers are available to the students for academic as well as personal counselling. The faculty also guides the students during their participation in a number of co-curricular as well as extracurricular activities across various colleges, institutes and universities.
