The program commenced with the 'dwajarohanam' and the release of a flyer on October 11, 2022. A nationwide online quiz program in chemistry and physics was conducted on October 13, 2022, with participation from students representing 25 colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh. The top 10 teams were selected for an offline quiz held on October 15, 2022. Pavan Kumar and Krishna Vamsi secured the first prize, while Sharon and Pravallika came second.
During the event, the convenors highlighted the importance of seminars like this and emphasized the need for nuclear energy to meet the growing energy demands of the Indian economy. Dr. Murthy delivered a guest lecture on atomic energy and the significance of nuclear isotopes in achieving self-sustainability in the energy sector. Dr. Rao discussed the functioning of nuclear reactors and the career opportunities in atomic energy. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the quiz winners and participants.
Overall, the national colloquium and quiz program were highly successful in promoting knowledge and awareness of nuclear energy and its applications.
